We had just a couple kids over this past weekend to celebrate my kiddo’s 8th birthday. My son’s only request was for a Mandalorian themed party, so I put together a simple and inexpensive little party for the three boys. There is not much on Pinterest yet for Mandalorian birthday party themes, so I thought sharing what I made could help another parent in a pinch. I am sure my son is not the only child obsessed with the show!
I normally plan games and prizes and maybe even a craft, but kept it simple this year with just food. The kids played Nerf guns and Legos and had more fun playing with the balloons than anything else.

Food:
We ordered pizzas for the main dish and then had chex mix, skittles, blue soda, and cake. I made labels for the blue cream soda bottles and called it “Spotchka” like in the show. The chex mix was “Mando’s Munchies” and I used skittles as “Whistling Birds”. The plastic container the skittles are in is from Dollar Tree, and though the plastic is very thin and cheap, this shape is really great for parties and I have used it a lot. The chex mix I just threw in a glass Pyrex bowl.

Decorations:
I designed this simple banner with large buntings, but you could easily re-size them to be smaller and print out several to make a longer banner. The silver streamers, the “8” balloon and the silver and white balloons blown up and scattered around the floor were the only decorations I spent money on. We already had several Star Wars toy ships and action figures so we used those around the house. The tablecloth was black with stars and perfect for the party. I used black paper plates for both the pizza and the cake. It was very simple but my son was still really happy with everything.

To print the Mandalorian birthday party banner: one two three

I spelled out “This is the way” on my letterboard which I already had. You could spell out another quote or saying from the show. I bought a printable watercolor art piece of The Mandalorian from Etsy and printed it out on card-stock and clipped to a black clipboard.

You could go crazy with the streamers and add in black and white, but I kept it simple by just taping it from the chandelier to the walls around the dining room.

I grabbed a tray and filled it with propped up Star Wars toys, added a couple gold mercury candles and called it a centerpiece. It was pretty bland, but I don’t think 8 year old boys care too much about centerpieces anyhow.

Don’t forget to play the Mandalorian soundtrack in the background !
For party favors we printed out paper that looks like “Beskar” and wrapped XL Hershey chocolate bars with them. I wanted to make a little label that said “thank you” but didn’t get that far.

If you are trying to think of games to play, I do have a couple ideas for you! Fill several white balloons with air and using a black marker, draw a simple Storm Trooper face on each one. Then the kids can either shoot them with Nerf guns or play stomp the balloon (you could even fill them with candy!) .You could make a Mandalorian themed treasure hunt where the kids have to hunt for Mudhorn eggs (these could be candy filled Easter eggs or chocolate Kinder-eggs). Make your own pin-the-helmet-on-the-Mandalorian game.
I hope this gave you some ideas to throw your own Mandalorian birthday party!
And if you need a few gift ideas for the little Mando-lover in your life…
