For the month of July, or homeschool nature co-op read through the beloved Beatrix Potter’s stories, and celebrated with a lovely picnic on a hot summer’s day at our friends farm. We enjoyed themed food, chatting about the author and illustrator, and making a fun craft. It was another beautiful and fun Book Club success! If you are looking for ideas on hosting your own Beatrix Potter book club or party, I hope you can get some good ideas and inspiration here!

The Food Table for a Beatrix Potter book club
For every book club, we create a sign-up sheet within the BAND app, so we can all pitch in bringing food. I always love to see how it all comes together. It always turns out so beautifully!
- fresh cut veggies
- bread and butter
- fresh plums, pears, and blackberries
- hard-boiled eggs
- Trail mix/mixed nuts
- lemon poppy seed muffins
- blackberry muffins
- iced chamomile tea
- sweet tea
- blackberry tea

I made these food labels and taped them to a pretty gingham print that I printed out on cardstock from Christy Beasley Creative.

Paper plates are from Target.

The Activity
A member of our group has taken over the crafts for book club, and I just love what she comes up with! She originally thought about painting terracotta pots, but decided on making these towels, and I think they are so cool and the kids had a great time creating.

Using fruit and veggies as stamps, they stamped and painted on their towels and then hung them to dry in a tree. So much creativity and personality came through with this project!

It was yet another successful Book Club celebration!
