There is something deeply nourishing our about gathering with other women around a table- hands busy, hearts open, and laughter spilling freely. As mothers, our days are often poured out in a thousand small, unseen ways, and it an be easy to forget how much we need need to be filled, too. This Valentine’s Ladies Craft Night was less about the projects we made and more about the fellowship we shared- taking time to slow down, be present, and simply be together In the gentle rhythm of conversation, creativity, and encouragement I was reminded that community is a gift from God, and that when mothers gather to nurture one another, everyone leaves a little more whole.
I have decided that this will be a monthly mamas craft night at my home and cannot wait to share with you all our DIYs! I have planned several months for this year already, including the craft and theme of the gathering. I think it’s a wonderful excuse to get together.

The Decor

We had the party in my dining room, which is also our homeschool room.

I kept decor fairly simple and only purchased on thing- this cute pink bow banner. I live with a house full of boys, so I never get a chance for pink and bows and girly things like this. But all February long, I get to show my girly side!

The Craft
For this first gathering, we made Valentine’s Day cards with simple supplies. I did not buy a thing, as I already had all these supplies. I also print out most of the paper and little cardstock embellishments from my own printer using resources from the Christy Beasley Creative art membership (I have shared a lot about that here!) But here is a list of what I set out on the table:

I use this printable art subscription SO much- for parties, crafts, homeschool resources, holidays etc.
Here is a list of what I set out on the table:
- several different prints of paper and cardstock
- ribbon
- stamps and ink
- paint markers
- glue, tape, scissors
- “fun” scissors
- washi tape
- blank cards and envelopes
- paper doilies
- brads
- whole punchers
- stickers
- gems

We just chatted and snacked and sipped on festive drinks while crafting and creating. I ended up leaving my craft supplies out on my dining room table for another day and made 10 more cards! I have always really enjoyed making handmade cards for friends and family. I had a lot of supplies that felt vintage or old-fashioned, which is my favorite style. I like my cards to look like Grandma made them- full of ribbon and lace and bows and layers of different prints.
I actually had a second activity planned, but we didn’t have enough time. I think I will do those next month since I already have all the supplies needed.

The Food
It can be easy for me to go overboard with food at things like this, but the leftovers were perfect for a picnic lunch we had the next day on a field trip. I wanted it snacky finger foods that we could munch on while craft.
We had various meats and cheeses, grapes, mixed nuts, different types of crackers, and fig jam on the charcuterie board. For the desserts we had strawberry Pocky sticks, pink wafer cookies, strawberries, raspberries, cream puffs, macarons, pink chocolate covered mini graham crackers, and a tiny cake from a local bakery that was chocolate with bourbon buttercream frosting- yum!
For the drinks I made a pink punch that had strawberry lemonade, white cranberry juice, and ginger ale in it. Guests could drink that straight or add in some prosecco. I also had a fun cotton candy drink that was simple and sweet. I rimmed a glass with pink sugar, add a little pink cotton candy, and pour in some Strawberry Vanilla Olipop.

The Favor
I don’t know if I will give a favor for my guests every month, but I had to for Valentine’s Day! This stack of 24 scripture cards and little candy heart valentine are from Christy Beasley Creative.

As the night came to an end and the table slowly cleared, I was struck by how the simplest things- good food, thoughtful details, and shared creativity- can create space for something much deeper. What we made with our hands will hopefully be enjoyed for a while, but what will linger longest is the feeling of being seen, encouraged, and cared for. My hope it that every woman who gathered left feeling a little lighter, a little more filled, and reminded that she doesn’t have to pour from an empty cup. These small moments of fellowship matter more than we realize, and I’m so grateful for the chance to open my home, slow down, and nurture the kind of community that sustains us as mothers.
I cannot wait for next month’s gathering!
