I adore creating Easter baskets! I think these are even more fun than curating a stocking at Christmas. I usually fill my children’s Easter baskets with items to get them excited for Spring and warmer days. I skip all the candy (they get plenty in the plastic eggs that I hide around the yard), and try to skip the cheap-o plastic junk that will end up being donated or tossed. This basket is for my four year old, who is another little explorer. I wanted to create a nature/explorer/outdoor themed basket like I have in the past. I cannot wait for him to see this basket full goodies on Easter morning! If you have a child who loves the outdoors, check out this nature-themed Easter Basket- I hope this gives you some ideas and inspiration!

quick tip– I first put crumpled brown packing paper in the basket to give everything some height, and then add a green playsilk on top of it. I cannot stand the fake “grass” or shredded paper that gets everywhere! I use the same playsilks every year.

This tiny mouse is precious! I got a frog for my two year old. I couldn’t find this exact little plush online, I am not sure of the brand as I grabbed it from a local shop. This one is pretty cute on Amazon. But really any little plush would be sweet! I originally was going to put a bear or bison stuffed animal in there, or maybe a raccoon, but I couldn’t find a small one I liked that we didn’t already have! The mouse doesn’t really match the “theme”, but I think it is too sweet not to share.

As you gather treasures to tuck into your little one’s Easter basket, may it be a reminder of the beauty of the season God has created. Spring whispers of new life everywhere we look—in budding branches, birdsong, and fresh green grass—and it gently points our hearts back to the hope of the resurrection. My prayer is that your Easter is filled with slow moments outdoors, grateful hearts, and the quiet joy of celebrating the new life we have in Christ. Wishing you and your family a blessed and wonder-filled Easter!
